In chemistry and physics, Dalton's law states that in a mixture of non-reacting gases, the total pressure exerted is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the individual gases. Diffusion is the movement of particles  from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Effusion refers to the movement of gas particles through a small hole.
